So I'm running a trial version of Scene 6.2 while I try cloud to cloud. Was running 5.2 no problem with the key fob plugged in.

I'll save the terrible issues with Scene crashing and the headaches of cloud to cloud for another post.

The issue of the moment is that when I try to export a PTX (or anything for that matter, or even try a large correspondence view), Scene works for a bit and then kicks up an error message:

"No valid license present at the moment. Please reestablish connection to you floating license server or plug in your port lock again."

Port lock shouldn't matter as I'm running the trial license on the machine, but did try plugging it in (no help).

As an aside, Cyclone (node locked license) is also giving me issue suddenly about not finding a license. FARO customer support not returned call, can't submit through the website (can't retrieve password + website sucks and kick ups error). Anyone have ideas on this problem du jour?

What is the status of the 6.2 license on that screen? What does it say under "Restrictions"?

@berdindc : customer support is indeed terrible, they lose questions, tracking numbers. They never call back. I send a question for a quote for the complete suite of pointsense which is new from v 18.0. I'm on subscription for pointsense plant but they just don't care. They don't even bother to mail me that new versions exist.

I went to geobusiness yesterday and if my bank agrees i've made my choice for a new scanner and it won't be a faro.

I had loads of problems also with Scene - used the free trial on one machine and a dongle in another, upgraded both to use with the dongle separately and kept getting "License has expired - Error Code: 35857" and when i try to update the licenses it says they are all updated and no additional licenses were added.

From memory it just suddenly started working again - crashed loads though on a wide range of spec of machines.

Cyclone - try clicking verify internet connection first.

After my complaints about software updates and the lack of info i had a few calls directly with the Kubit people and a part of the problem occurs with my previous reseller.

Not everything is solved but they are working on my case which makes me a happy customer again. So kudos to the Faro team for trying to resolve my issues.

We didnt have time to muck about in the field to resolve it further as it was on hire, luckily it just started to work again - but it did get sorted within a few days to allow us to use the most update version.

I try to avoid Scene at all costs and only use Cyclone unless i need to colour scans or if its quicker to put Faro scans together in Scene then export on the 2nd machine.

Under restrictions it just says 30 Days and the start/end date....

Problem with Cyclone was my firewall (AVG). That was part of the problem with Scene as well.
