Re: Difference between vz400 and vz400i
If you boil it down to the specs, the VZ-400i has doubled in speed and comes with an increased measurement range. Internal storage has been extended to 256GB and USB 3.0 is now onboard. Personally i think the most impressive change is under the hood. For the first time the Vz-400i is a terrestrial scanner with a dedicated processing board inside and a fast LTE/4G connection module.

My hope is that Tan Nguyen will have one at the IAFSM Conference in San Diego next month so that we can play with it a bit.

I second that request! Very interested to see the 4g upload in action. I image a day when a police office could scan a Scene and the data is instantly uploaded back to headquarters for review. Feedback can then be relayed back to fill in voids or obtain more detail where needed. I guess I don't really have to imagine this, as the technology is here...just needs to be implemented in the field

Re: Difference between vz400 and vz400i
On my 4G plan uploading a few projects a month would be serious $$$$. In the US it runs about 10-15$ a GB.
Seems like maybe a more useful feature for firmware updates? Software improvements?
