Heyy,

I thought it was a pity that I could not get an exact readout of a displacement while "surface comparison".

Well, the difference is visualised via color bar but this way you cannot get an accurate readout. One can create a cross-section. But it takes time ... and simply it's not the same.

Instead, it would be great if you could get a an exact value in the "Readout" tab.

Guys'n'gals, would that be handy for you too?

Riegl team, can you consider such an option?

Hi Jerzy,

Sounds like an interesting idea for a quick check. I will forward this question to our developers.

For the time being, I can think of 2 ways to get hands on the exact values:
1. The export checkbox in the surface comparison tool. It creates a csv file with the dispalcement values for each point.
2. When the surface comparison tool is executed, it writes a 'distance to surface attribute' to the RDBX file. To access the RDBX our free RDBLib and a few lines of (C++, or Python) code is required.

It's good that one can get the exact displacement values 8-)

But, regarding *.csv file, I am wondering why it contains coordinates of PRCS instead of GLCS.

GLCS has been set (Object inspector, Orthogonal view, Readout Tab plus Absolute grid mode),
and GLCS values are displayed properly within main working area (but not in the text file).

Any idea why?
