RiPano to web server
Hello fellow Riegl users,
I recently received my RiPano license. My company uses Office 365 for everything (Sharepoint, OneDrive, etc) and I was trying to see if I could host a RiPano project one OneDrive. I uploaded a test project of 1.2GB, which was 8 scans, and was able to share the project link and have it work for the recipient. The issue is the upload time. For that size of project it took about 8 hrs!!! mainly due to how many files are in a RiPano project (~30,000 files). Has anyone else encountered this with sharing through a web server or have found a work around for it?

Re: RiPano to web server
simply archive the Ripano project folder. Send this zip file to the client using onedrive or dropbox and ask him to unzip it for use on local computer.

Re: RiPano to web server
A lot of my clients have to place it on their server which Ripano doesn't run from.
I as a service upload it to my own domain. Easier for all, also when something changes in the ripano they always have the latest version.

Re: RiPano to web server
That is where my head is at. For me, my clients are other employees in my company. I simply would like to share a link to them so that they can access the project via web browser. I found that if I upload the "data" folder to OneDrive and change the "index.html" to "index.aspx", then the client can access the project. The issue is uploading the data to OneDrive. The size of the project doesnt seem to be the issue, just the amount of small files in the project.landmeterbeuckx wrote: ↑Thu Sep 16, 2021 6:36 pm A lot of my clients have to place it on their server which Ripano doesn't run from.

A lot of small files as with Ripano is not uncommon. I also use 3dvista for classic virtual tours of per construction damage assessments and it is also tons of small files.

Re: RiPano to web server
i myself tried a small php script which unzips zipped files on a webserver. (google unzip on server) that saves a lot of time.
i know from other customers that their provider offers such unzip functions, maybe you can just ask them if there is such a function.

Re: RiPano to web server
I just tested something out. A php to put on the one.com domain and unzip.
It works but only with zip, not with rar

Why not host the files yourself, via Apache, or even IIS on windows? Both are free.

Re: RiPano to web server
Excellent, thank you all for your tips and solutions.
One more inquiry. Would someone mind sharing what they typically use for RiPano export settings?
