TX8 Scanner Georeferencing Error Worse Using Occupied Scans vs Targets
We are using a TX8 do to static terrestrial lidar scanning. We do occupied scans on our control points as well as capture targets on control points for georeferencing. We are finding this year that the georeferencing error is higher when we use the occupied scans than when we use the targets. Using a combination of occupied scans and targets to georeference a scan results in an even larger error. Has anyone else experienced this? We changed our methodology a few years ago to do the occupied scans because they were supposed to be more accurate/result in less error. We ran a diagnostics report on the scanner this summer and everything came back normal.
