Trimble RealWorks 11.3 is now available!

Post by Jason H »

Enhancements and fixes included in this version:

· Wall Verticality Inspection Tool: Inspect plumbness and flatness of walls.
· Inspection Map Color Layer: When creating an inspection map you can now choose to add a color layer. You can choose what color render to use such as intensity, elevation or true color, if available. Inspection maps can also be exported with the new coloring.
· Create Smaller Mesh Files: The Mesh Creation tool now allows you to create a surface mesh of reduced size. You have the option to maintain full detail or create smaller less detailed mesh. This size reduction can also be done in the Mesh Editing tool.
· Fill Mesh Holes: A new mode for filling holes has been added to the Mesh Editing tool.
· Autodetect and Fit Beam Model: New tool will search for best size and shape model from a catalog and fit to the point cloud.
· Auto Classify Tunnel: New classification option will separate different objects of a tunnel scan such as the tunnel itself and remove people as well as other objects.

Hello Jason,

It is possible to compare 2 point clouds in Trimble Realworks, first one before concrete projection and the second one after concrete projection, in order to see where is overprojected and underprojected?

Than you in advance

Hi Victor.

I don't think Realworks has that capability, but cloud compare (which is free to download and use) has this capability. There are video tutorials on how to do it if my memory serves correct.

You need the Advanced license, but typically you can use either twin surface analyzer or the 3D inspector
see that video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkFNODB-Qs0&t=14s

either way, CloudCompare may work, but won't be as optimized to play with huge data set as Realworks.

cheers,
