Scanner Running Cost

Post by ABeckett »

Hi All,

I'm trying to get an idea of service/calibration costs on the Tx6/Tx8 scanners by Trimble. Do you guys send them off at a time interval to get them checked? or do you work it until you see an issue?

Any experience sharing would be great.

I've been using the TX8 since 2016 - did many projects around 4000 scans maybe more. TX8 always gets the job done. I also thought about calibration but I do not see a reason to get it done. Lately I did hi precision validation tests on a macrometric table. I had a sphere which I a moved 15mm and than again 10mm - The scan was taken from someting around 7-8 m ( distance to sphere ) The results I got showed and error @ 0,16mm in 3d space. The tests were done on 1-pass.
