Something modular from Leica!?!?

GTFO!

Edit: Oh hang on. Now after looking at photos it is a whole new body? Why the actual f#$k wouldn't you get an existing BLK2GO and strap wings to it?

Nobody will buy both.

A lot does come down to the quality of the data and total price of the solution. Having looked at the ZEB horizon flown data for example, it actually was smoother than the handheld stuff, possibly due to the drone being a more stable platform in terms of type of movement the IMU had to deal with. Personally, I'd love to see some low flown roads and railway lines with overhead cables to see how this solution stacks up against terrestrial mapping. Nothing new in drone based LIDAR so also worth comparing with similar solutions out there from other vendors.

Modular would make so much more sense, something like the Stormbee without having to heft a whole Faro TLS into the air.

" BLK2FLY will autonomously scan the entire exterior of a building from the air with high degrees of accuracy"

If the data quality is only as good as this image from the Leica Promo I am not sure if it is useful at all.
As a 3D modeller, I would refuse to work with this.
Can we please have a download link to actual data from this drone ?
Mike
