Hi,
Long time reader of the forum, first time poster and new member.
Several months ago a colleague of mine scanned a rather ornate stately home to draw some elevations. The client has come back and asked for extra work but there were several gaps in the original scan. I went back last week to fill in the gaps, using the previous surveys control to shoot a couple of targets in (I only did 6 scans), thus putting my new targets on the same grid and level as the previous survey.
I am using Cyclone 9.1.5 and i have done nothing in terms of processing/registering as of yet. The previous scan was unified and no copy was made before the unification. My question, what is the best/easiest way to get my latest scan data merged with the previous scan? It was all done using a P40.
Thanks in advance,
Stuart

Re: Merging Scan data to a previously unified job
Either import the new data in to the same database. or a seperate one but you will need to use a ref copy to merge them.
register the new data sets in its own registration, as you say they are on the same grid
then make a new registration and bring in both frozen scanworlds. if you are absolutly sure they are on the same grid just hit finalise. cyclone will give you a message about no constraints just ignore it. If you wish to keep the first registrations unified cloud go to the model spaces tab and highlight the modelspace containing the unified data. you can also do this for the new registration if you unify that before doing the registration.
If you wish to keep the original unified data "gospel" you could bring in that registered scanworl in to a new registration and bring in all the new data into that allowing you to also cloud reg the new data to the fixed old data. meaning it will not move at all.
The main thing about your question is how to maintain your already unifed cloud. the trick is to highlight that and any other modelspace in the registration tab and it will get ported across to the new registered scanworld.
Fell free to contact support or myself if this doesn't make sense.

Stuart,
Your first job has a created scanworld. Process the second set of scan in the same .imp file and create a new scanworld from those scans. Open a new registration and import the two scanworlds. If the two are on the same survey control they will register together.

Steven/Rikore,
Thanks for the prompt responses. I shall have a crack at it and see how it goes.
Thanks again,
Stuart
