I have found that my detail scans from the same scanworld are not aligning with the original scan. They seem to be about a half inch lower. We use a P30. The scanner was level and was at grade.

Re: mis alignment of detail scans
probably moved the scanner when you boxed out the area with your finger or Leica plastic pen. It is possible to move it enough to make it misaligned but not enough that the scanner would notice it is no longer level -- in my experience.

Re: mis alignment of detail scans
When the scanner is setup on a solid tripod it will not move when you define a detail scan area with the stylus or your finger. When the scanner setup was stable, which I assume it was, then a offset between the overview scan and a detail scan (child scan) could indicate a problem with the calibration of the scanner. To check this do a 2-face target scan and check the delta values in the Delta tab of the Target Information panel.

Re: mis alignment of detail scans
I just performed the 2 face check, results were fine. So looks like I just need to calibrate the tilt comp. Still going to send the unit in for year cal/maintenance with in the next couple of weeks.
Thanks for your input and help with this.

Re: mis alignment of detail scans
It sounds like the two faces of the unit are out of alignment. I would haver the unit calibrated to make sure its all working as it should be.
