Good morning,
I am having some issues trying to register .las files in cyclone. I have imported my data and put them in scan worlds, control and modelspaces. Picked targets etc.
Within my registration I have registered the scans to coords and have my error. If I view interim results my cloud is there. However, when I freeze the registration and create a scanworld, the modelspace is blank with just my targets. Am I missing something here :/! Is it possible?
Any advice much appreciated.
Jemma

".. put them in scanworlds .. " - sounds like you imported and created your own hierarchy?
There is a way to make the current modelspace you are viewing the default cloud for the scanworld.
The same action is used when you clean your clouds up and want to make them the default clouds going forwards as opposed to the raw clouds as captured.
In each modelspace .. Tools .. Scanner .. Set as Default Cloud

Worth double checking in the scanworld explorer if the scans have been turned on.
Also is there any "scans" in the scans folder of your scanworld you have created

This is what I did as it orginally imported the .las files as modelspaces so I could not register them. The set default cloud message does not work. It comes up with the error message below.jamesworrell wrote:".. put them in scanworlds .. " - sounds like you imported and created your own hierarchy?

Any other ideas? Am I importing incorrectly?

You might need to post a screenshot of your structure .. having never tried importing LAS specifically I can't be totally sure .. but gist of it is (what I assume would work): if you have a scanworld .. under the scanworld you have a modelspace .. your modelspace has a single unified cloud in it .. set default cloud. Repeat for all LAS data in independent scanworlds .. create the registration .. freeze and open modelspace.
I am sure someone who has played with LAS in Cyclone will pipe up in the not too distant future ..

Re: Registering .las files in cyclone???
I've managed to figure it out. If you import .las files as a general import they will only appear as a modelspace.
I have to create scanworlds. Then import each .las file individually into each scanworld. Then pick my targets, then register. Then the registered modelspace contains cloud data.
Never done it before so it was all a working progress. Asking on here can give quick fixes . Thanks for your input.
