Re: New Leica Scanner?
I'll play along ..
Don't think will be new hardware per se - that would have probably turned up at InterGeo.
Don't think it is drone based - even with the UFO reference in the video there - recent announcements with DJI etc suggest something for InterGeo next year ;-p even if Aibotix have been quiet of late.
Yeah could be a new BIM-grade scanner - SLAM/localizer type thing .. update on the trolley thing?
But taking a punt on software.
Sub-domain name .. blk360 .. there is a Leica Building Link .. Revit to Leica Captivate for instrument set out data - see video:
youtu.be/CvhtBBcHIIk
So half expecting a new "total station" - "iPad" driven interface - construction set out instrument (so maybe some hardware) for native Revit set out in the field for everyone .. not just surveyors. There goes some more business
Putting my crystal ball gazing/reality capture wishlist back to top - I'd guess at native support for Leica Jetstream data baked into Revit; Infraworks etc - pushed from Leica Global servers - so hosting all of your point cloud data in the cloud on a subscription - consume and share in Autodesk software .. maybe pay more for Cloudworx licenses for the modelling tools in there ..
If not the latter - please build Leica .. also consider allowing users to choose their data centre to host - latency to Australia is a killer.

Re: New Leica Scanner?
How about Recap doing this natively. Why cant Revit just display all the Recap points. Shouldnt be so complicated.jamesworrell wrote: Putting my crystal ball gazing/reality capture wishlist back to top - I'd guess at native support for Leica Jetstream data baked into Revit; Infraworks etc - pushed from Leica Global servers - so hosting all of your point cloud data in the cloud on a subscription - consume and share in Autodesk software .. maybe pay more for Cloudworx licenses for the modelling tools in there ..
EDIT: sorry that is kind of a thread hijack!
if I had to guess, probably cloud hosted cyclone?

Re: New Leica Scanner?
Ideally a small scanner to compete with the Faro size/weight/footprint and being able to simply place it with out having to level it properly! As we have scanned a lot of places the P40 either doesnt fit (through small openings), weak roofs/areas where P40 would fall through.
The above with the new update of Cyclone allowing you to place the scans on a map/plan for auto alignment would make things a good bit quicker in both field and office.

Re: New Leica Scanner?
I would hazard a guess that this will be layout focussed and may or may not utilise Autodesks 360 Cloud service or Leica's cloud service.
As other detectives on the forum have noticed, the "BLK" is probably a shortening of Leica Building Link (A free Revit plugin)
I suspect the ultimate aim is to generate layout points/co-ordinates from Revit models that are then sent via controller or ipad in near real time to the field in order to be set out/verfied and back to the office again with a revised workflow status accordingly.

Re: New Leica Scanner?
Unfortunately I'm not going to AU this year. Probably comes a little too early in the year for me to make that happen.
