You're not alone! I've been seeing a similar error this week, Error code 218, which in the log file refers to Error 17...
Support was unable to answer what was causing it.

Re: Scene 6.2.3.9 errors
Apologies for the inconvenience! We would like to understand better what's going on, so I have some questions:
Are you saying that all of a sudden 6.2.3.9 is causing errors which didn't occur before? Or have you recently updated to 6.2.3.9 and are getting errors since then?
Are the errors reproducible with specific projects or scans or do they rather occur randomly?
Have you by chance installed a Windows Update lately?
Have you installed a different Anti-Virus Software or updated the Anti-Virus Software recently?
Thanks and best regards,
Joachim

Re: Scene 6.2.3.9 errors
I've had multiple instances of error code 17 and error code 24. I have been trying to get about 42 scans registered and will get an error either right after I register a scan to a cluster or save after doing so. I've had to reload 6 scans as the scans in the project would show up corrupted after an error. This is not being very productive.

Apologies for the inconvenience,
please do approach FARO customer service and provide the project for analysis.
Have you observed whether Anti-Virus or location of the project (local drive, network drive) makes any difference?

Re: Scene 6.2.3.9 errors
From what I have been able to see from my end in version 6.2.3.9 is that when I was attempting to create a scan cluster through manual registration, the verify targets button would go green before the scan data was completely loaded. Thus by pressing that button before the data was completely loaded I believe was the culprit of the error codes and what lead to corrupted files. I don't think that button should go green until the data from the scans that are being registered are loaded 100% which is the behavior seen in version 6.2.2.7. I was able to complete my registration tasks by reverting back to 6.2.2.7 and did not experience any of the previous issues.
