What happened to Create Scan Manager in Scene 6.xx?

Post by sreed »

In Scene 5.5, there was an option to create a new Scan Manager. This was very helpful in that you could bring in registered scans to a project, move the imported scans to a new cluster, create a new Scan Manager for that cluster, and lock it.

Now, in Scene 6.x, this option isn't available. Does anyone have any solution for locking a group of scans in a cluster that has been imported without having to perform a registration? I don't want to "fix" all of the scans, because i may need to register this imported scan cluster to other existing scans.

Any ideas?

Try switching back to the old UI.

You can select an existing Scan Manager and copy it with CTRL+LMB to a new cluster if it helps

A belated thanks for the replies. I've been using this method (CTRL+LMB drag and drop into new cluster) for some time. The frustrating thing is that the Scan manager turns Red even though the scans are registered. Of course there is no way for Scene to KNOW they are registered, but it would be nice to force a green scan manager so that the Red Scan Manager doesn't affect every scan manager above it in the cluster hierarchy.

Any other suggestions are appreciated.

If you switch to the new UI you can go to the registration tab and Manually Finish that cluster. It will create a scan manager in that cluster.

Thanks so much. I'll certainly try that. I haven't used the new UI much so that makes sense.
