Hi everyone,
Recently I've been speaking to several museums and heritage centres regarding implementing laser scanning into their line of work. What I've got so far as a common comment is that they really love interactive tours, which is somewhat already available in Faro webshare (which I am currently using).
However, the challenge is that they wish to have a redesigned dialog box (or documentation box) which simply reacts to mouseovers. (I.e. when I go into an online museum and select scan 1 which is the main hall and reception. If I were to mouse over the reception or ticketing counter tag, a documentation box automatically appears and shows me the price to enter the galleries.)
Another thing would be the interactive audio tour, meaning the same method as above, clicking the reception tag would automatically start the audio guide.
I am aware that these softwares are not actually designed for such purposes, but on my part I'm curious to know if there's any other softwares around that potentially would allow me to merge scan point clouds with online tour information.
Please share with me your experience if you've heard or did anything alike to this. Thanks everyone!

Hi Vincent,
Have you looked at pano2vr..?
Very customisable and can handle audio and video clips too.
Here's an example I found that uses mouse overs, you could perhaps adapt it to your needs...

Thanks for sharing this with me, it looks rather interesting to explore into this. Let me try adapting slightly to see if it fits well. I will update about it soon!

Apologies for being slightly un-contactable, let me see if I can switch the PM on somehow. Previously it doesn't allow me to do it as I'm too new to this forum, !
In any way, let's discuss this via email. I'd like to hear if Faro have got any interest in this direction too.

Hey All,
Just got a new custom built workstation and have been revisiting some old data.
Thought my latest video post might be of interest: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnz1_kpOncQ
