Creating WebShare from Leica C10 Scans
My client (and myself for that matter) prefer SCENE WebShare to Leica TruView. I have a project scanned with a C10 and registered in Cyclone that I want in WebShare. Here is my workflow......
1. CYCLONE: Exported PTX (non-unified) of the registered project (10 scans in all, 1 ptx file)
2. SCENE: Import PTX (for some reason this comes in as 4 scans, with an error, so something is going on here).
3. CYCLONE: Select next batch of about 4 scans, export. (for some reason 4 scans seems to be max without error
4. SCENE: now I have a project with 10 scans, no need to register since already done in Cyclone. Create Webshare data and create manual upload package (no data)
5. WEBSHARE2GO: When I open, everything looks good on surface. However, when I enter a scan position the adjoining scan markers are incorrect in that they show up in the wrong place (for example on the the other side of a fenced in area).
Something is going on that I can't quite figure out.... Ring a bell with anyone? Maybe not the best explanation, image below may help.

Strange Problem. Actually this should work the way you describe your workflow.
Any chance we can get the project or parts of it to run some tests and figure out what is going on?

Daniel,
Yes, I can share. I will upload SCENE file to Google Drive and PM link.
Also, I tried exporting individual PTX files so I can share those if that works better for you. Curious to get this figured out! Thanks for the offer!!

Re: Creating WebShare from Leica C10 Scans
Bumping my post back to top as this issue has come up again.
To summarize:
1). Can Leica scans be (successfully) integrated into FARO Scene, simply for the purpose of creating FARO Webshare? Had limited success with this last go, and it looked like crap.
2). Is there a "generic" alternative to the Webshare/Truview options? I'd like to utilize both my FARO and C10 on a job but it's a big turn-off having to deliver client two viewing platforms. They want a web-based viewer, the RECAP viewer will not suffice.
Thoughts or suggestions?

Please send the link to the sample data with a short description of the steps you took (e.g. the description from your first post) and the unexpected behaviour to websharecloud [at] faroeurope.com
Did you try e57 as interchange format?
Kind regards

Have you investigated TruView Global? Have a look here http://truviewglobal.emea.leica-geosystems.com/welcome for some examples. More functionality is available for those with a login...berdindc wrote:Bumping my post back to top as this issue has come up again.

I should note that all of these examples were published before we added 4K support (included in the next release of Cyclone on 15th November).

Re: Creating WebShare from Leica C10 Scans
I'll answer my own question:
1. Export scans out of Cyclone in e57 format.
2. Import e57 into FARO project.
3. Create "virtual scan" of each of the imported scans
4. Create WebShare and upload Webshare data.
The C10 scans look very nice, easy enough process. May be forced to get up to speed on Scene since 5.2 cannot create virtual scans.
