Hi all,
I'm on the hunt for some review / animation software where I can combine our point cloud models with modeled items an generate animations showing (for example) the installation path of new equipment in congested areas. I am finding that a lot of the work we do with our scanners involves tight work zones and requires planning for the removal and installation of large pieces of equipment (tanks, motors, heat exchangers) and we end up supplying the client with lifting plans and other information in order to safely and efficiently execute this work.
I have watched the Bentley Point Tools video and it seems to offer everything I would need. But as always I like to hear what others have to say about the software that is available.
Thanks for your input.

Re: Review / Animation Software Recommendations
Hi Dylan,
**Small disclaimer, I'm completely biased...**
..but please see our offering here (there's a video on the main page showing most functions):
http://www.veesus.com
You can load normal 3DS, OBJ, DAE, KML, etc models alongside your LIDAR data, satellite imagery, annotations, markups, etc and create up to 4K HD movies (See the latest post within our sub-forum).
You can also associate all the objects with time so have them turning on/off as appropriate through your video.
I'm sure we could sort you out a trial if you think it fits the bill.
We're always at the end of the phone/skype/email/forum for any questions you might have.
Hopefully somebody independent of myself will chime in and vouch for our software
Many Thanks
Mark

Re: Review / Animation Software Recommendations
Personally, I am a die hard 3ds Max user, but I am impressed with Arena 4D. They have done a really good job of putting things together in a simple to use package. They also render out quickly so no waiting for hours to get your animation done. Worth a look.
