Hello,
Some of you already know that we develop a point cloud exploitation software called ScanSap.
A first viewer will be avaliable for test in about one month. For now, the importation is limited to e57 files. We did many tests with e57 coming from Faro Scene, but we also need files coming from other environments: Cyclone, RW, Recap pro, ZF, drones...
Files types that are expected:
- 1 e57 file / scan (structured scan = 2D grid + depth),
- 1 e57 file / unified scans (unstructured scans).
We need files that contain RGB, or intensity, or RGB + intensity (e57 can store both information).
e57 is a very flexible format that allows multiple ways to store the pointclouds. This is why we try to build a converter that will accept e57 generated by different softwares.
If you are interested in providing some files, please contact me at [email protected].
You can also join the test program of ScanSap and we would be glad to get your feedback.
Our 3D engine is built with Vulkan, the successor of OpenGL.

Hey Yan,
I don't know anything about ScanSap. Can you post something about it? Happy to support your efforts as I'm able...

Hello Scott,
Scansap is a factory oriented pointcloud software that uses detailed tags placed by the user in the 3D environment.
Goals:
- reducing the modeling time,
- fully document industrial facilities,
- advanced hierarchy management,
- easy structure deformation analysis,
- advanced pointcloud rendering and navigation,
- advanced pointcloud exports.
Scansap is not dedicated to registration (we could, but there are many softwares doing that efficiently).
