Software maintenance

Post by landmeterbeuckx » Fri Mar 02, 2018 3:10 pm

I've got a lot of software maintenance programs running. I'm always afraid to cancel one because of possible new functionality in new versions.

How do you people deal with this? Everything on subscription or not?

My feeling is that al this maintenance isn't justified anymore for all my softwares, some excluded.

We buy perpetual whenever we can, but do have a few on subscriptions. We keep maintenance on all our software, especially AutoCAD products, due to the ever changing updates and improvements. Most of our software maintenance also has help desk or user support services. It does seem a shame though that you have to keep maintenance on each license you own. Such as multiple copies of Cyclone and cad. Maintenance is just something we bite the bullet on every year.
