Best method for creating floor plans from scans?
Would FARO Pointsense Building be a good choice? Have traced them directly in AutoCAD before, but looking for the best workflow to create 2D plans from the data.

I'm selling our copy of FARO Pointsense Plant 3D if you're interested in working in the AutoCAD environment still. I recall doing some 2D floor plan drawings in it before. Let me know if you're interested. It is priced well below the price we bought the software for, and still under maintenance.

Orthophoto app that is free inside SCENE is a good place to start, depending on how much info you need to trace. It creates scaled Tiffs (with transparency) that you can xref right into autocad.

Hi Dan,
If you want to create floor plans from scans inside AutoCAD, you should give PointSense Building a try. It offers a lot more functionality than native AutoCAD does. If you are a SCENE user too, you may also use the Quick View of scans and send 3D coordinates directly into AutoCAD.
Kind Regards

Hi Chris. I have just joined the forum and it appears I cannot send PM's yet. If the license of Pointools Building is still available, I would be interested...
