Re: Leica BLK2Go
Hi,
Are there any in the UK and when will sample data be readily available?

Re: Leica BLK2Go
If you have a demo, you can get the data
I know of at least 2 units in the UK... but demo demand is HIGH!
Some public data will be available very soon also.

Re: Leica BLK2Go
Will the public data be raw, unedited/filtered data?
We will likely be able to tell . . .

Re: Leica BLK2Go
I doubt it will be RAW, as this would require you to process a *.B2G file - it will be as loaded to REG360. I imagine we will share an E57 file, as we have done before.

Re: Leica BLK2Go
What is the work flow for picking up targets in Cyclone Core with the data? Same as HDS / papers or is it adding a vertex?

Hopefully both get supplied.pburrows145 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2020 9:54 am I doubt it will be RAW, as this would require you to process a *.B2G file - it will be as loaded to REG360. I imagine we will share an E57 file, as we have done before.
As many others in this forum, I have been stung by some nasty surprises on processing data from ALL the scanners that I have tested in the past.
I have always found a way around the quirks, but it's always nice to know where they are, from the get go, so you make an informed decision.
A small aside I think that is what happened when the RTC360 made people start fuming. It makes sense that they needed much more powerful machines, as you are capturing more data, more regularly, but the surprise was the sting, now no one complains (nearly as much, we always complain, that's what we do).

Re: Leica BLK2Go
Manually add a vertex where needed - (Not so easy to pin-point the middle of a target from mobile data (even with colour)), or use sphere extraction (not personally tried this yet...). You can use the "virtual target" function in Cyclone REGISTER 360 also.

Re: Leica BLK2Go
Yes, our our first demo with the RTC here @ PSHQ was an inside scan of our lobby and hallway (8+scans)MajorDomo wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2020 5:11 pmHopefully both get supplied.pburrows145 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2020 9:54 am I doubt it will be RAW, as this would require you to process a *.B2G file - it will be as loaded to REG360. We got a post prepared E57 that was shot on low res (worked kind of well on an indoor setting and increased the demo speed) non HDR E57 with horrible coloring.
When asked for the RAW data, "it had been wiped" so quite the shock when we finally rented one for a month (one of the first available east of the Misssippi) for major import to really test it ourselves.
Send the RAW data or post it and let us handle it ourselves--unless the product is not ready to perform essentially flawlessly. If you have BLK2GO raw data (B2G file) then the interface to actually process the slam data is either in the Desktop Software or the firmware of the BLK2GO or a combination of both. The two are married together and can not be separated (that would be typical Leica workflow), thus not being able to tell which part isn't working right if there is an issue.
I can't even tell you the number of support issues we had posted with BLK360 between the original split processing of the BLK hardware, camera, export- RECAP MOBILE PRO, BLK Data Manager and finally Register 360 and that happening in the midst of the collapse of the ACAD RECAP team. At least at this point everything is linking into Leica Controlled products and we can raise our voices in one direction.
