Scene workaround

Post by landmeterbeuckx »

I've had a project where Vz400i and Tx5 had to be combined.

The tx5 data in scene did strange things. It was all narrow and high rooms.

Because of the problems i tested this with Vercator Cloud and it went fine. Registered everything with their software and registered this cloud in with the Riegl data in Riscan.

Going to test some more but a good alternative in my opinion. They charge 1€ per scan to process.

Thanks for the info Lieven!

I'm curious, do you use targets to register the VZ400i and TX5 data together or just MSA in RiScan?

MSA in Riscan but i've heard from Vercator that you can export the scan from Riegl and import it as a reference scan and do everything in Vercator itself. Will test this out.

i only did like 30 scans. The tx5 is only to do scans in small places in addition for the riegl scans.

I'll never have to load a 1000 scans or do this in scene.

Lieven

I have been using Vercator now for sometime and found it to be an excellent alternative to Scene/Realworks or other quite frankly expensive registration software.

I use Vercator for Cloud to cloud registration. I also use there software to move my scans to the correct grid by referencing onsite targets.

I had a few hiccups early on whilst using the software but this was more my in experience with laser scanning than the software itself.

I found Charles Thomson and Charlie Cropp to be very helpful with support queries etc.

I export my scans as E57 files and import straight into N4CE for processing, which again I would fully recommend to any surveyor/engineer.
