It's an E57 format, so you can open it in pretty much any point cloud viewer (eg. Recap, CloudCompare).

EDIT: A couple other details about this scan:
- Scan time: 6 1/2 minutes
- Scan method: Walk a circle through the floor plan
- File size: 1.3 GB

Things to note:
- Going between dark areas and bright sunlight messes with the colorization, leaving some points overexposed (white).

It wouldnt be i dont think. Edgewise needs the scanner position for its algo

That's correct. Edgewise relies on scanner positions. But Pointsense or Scan To BIM (https://scantobim.xyz) will work.

Thought that might be the case.

I noticed there is a fair bit of drift on one of their examples - https://s3.amazonaws.com/website.paraco ... ml#?scan=2

If you look in elevation the floor has a dramatic bend to it. Can this be resolved with target control?

In general, SLAM-based systems, which PX-80 is, don't use specific targets. They extract features from the environment around them. As the unit moves, the features move and the system tries to calculate the new position based on the movement in features as well as its internal IMU. If you add targets, they will contribute a few more features that the system tracks. But the number of features the targets contribute will be much smaller than the number of features that PX-80 will extract from rest of the environment. Hence the contribution of the targets to alignment will be much smaller than when they are used traditionally with a terrestrial laser scanner.

I think a better option might be to scan small areas using targets and then stitch them together manually. SLAM systems generally implement loop closure. Which means that when you come back to the starting position, it recognizes that and it optimizes your whole path based on the constraint that first position = current(last) position. A lot of drift gets eliminated when loop closure optimization happens. Smaller the loop or the area that is scanned, lesser the drift. So if you use targets while scanning overlapping small areas, you'll get multiple point clouds, each of them containing targets. You should be able to register these point clouds together using the targets in the registration software of your choice. This way you are getting small point clouds with very little drift and then registering all of them together just using targets at the end.

My suggestion above is based on my understanding of how SLAM systems work. It's possible that being customized for surveying industry, PX-80 has some more features for target-based alignment which I am not aware of. Gannon should be able to correct me if that's the case.
