Recent 3D scanning project: a Colt

Post by Artec Group »

There has been an absolutely amazing moment in Artec3D, when one of our programmers rushed into our Product Manager room with a Colt, asking, whether this Colt can be scanned: a) quickly; b) without spraying :D

3D scanner: Artec Space Spider
Software: Artec Studio 12
Polygons count: 2 718 000 - right after a sharp fusion, 1 000 000 - f after mesh simplification

Here are some screenshots:

Looks great Olga!

I had a case where I used the Spider scanner to scan two pistols and a holster. I think what surprised me most was how deep inside the holster I was able to obtain data. Also, the Artec Studio software is probably the most comprehensive scanning software out there today. The results are excellent and you have a lot of flexibility to try different things.

well done!
