Recent 3D scanning project: a Diodone fish

Post by Artec Group »

Artec team was given a dried specimen of this Diodone fish with a question, whether Artec Space Spider can 3D scan it. As you can see on the screenshots in this post, the answer to this question is "yes, it definitely can!" :)

I am attaching the photo of our setup. We did not use any spray (or anything of this kind), just Artec Space Spider and Artec Studio 12.

Overall we made 5 scans (approximately 5700 frames in total), so we could capture these long spines over the fish body from all possible angles. Sharp fusion did the rest, perfectly reconstructing this Diodone fish specimen in 3D.

Let us know what you think!
