Yan,
With a Focus3D 120/X130 it's possible to combine Totalstation in long corridors with the new "Top View based Registration"! To take some references (minimum two) every 30 m (equal to three scan positions)... These scans will improve the "Top View based Registration" and its possible to use fewer spheres/ paper targets
We calculate 5 minutes per scan for hotels or similar including placing targets! This are 12 scans per hour or 96 scans in eight hours - normal business day/night
Assumed no color needed! And in my case more than quality 2 I never use! Sometimes 1/4 with quality 1 it's good enough for BIM - we get a deviation of 5 mm over a project and its a very fast scanning!
But for QM most time we use target based registration only (with the same time schedule) even for pure BIM projects! Enhanced with totalstation use for the outside and some (few) surveyed references inside.
C2C did never work for us, it's too time consuming! I use C2C to level scans, which were measured without inclinometer (it turns off in our system sometimes) or to register very small projects with a few scans only (up to 15)... Or tilted/ upside down scans
Cheers
Stefan

Hi, could You send any picture or screen capture about how do you set out targets in that narrow corridors and doorways? I am always in trouble how to separate my targets in these small placesyankoch wrote:Well, 100 scans a day are possible, but to be honest, it was a 10 hours work with only 30 minutes for lunch.
Cheers
Thank you !

Re: Faro Focus: Scan Resolution, large indoor area
One other question,
How many scans can be registered together in Scene 5.5?
I have a Workstation i7 with 32 GB of Ram and a Quadro GPU.
1 cluster has 30 scans, is it possible to do it in one time or better to make 2 clusters.
It's a outdoor scan around a building
When i use 2 clusters, is it possible to get a loop registration between the scans?

Re: Faro Focus: Scan Resolution, large indoor area
I recently scanned an old industry building from 1853. a little over 450 scans with 1/4 and 2x, no color. Scan time per scan is 2.47mins.
Did the registration in Faro Scene 5.5 with an I7 and 32gb as well. I managed to handle the registration process by splitting into 4 clusters.
