HDS6000 calibration
Hi to everyone
Great site, we could have done with years ago...
My question is has anyone reached the '180 of 180' status on the HDS6000?
Apparently this is a reminder to check the calibration as they are not as stable as a Scanstation, although you should be checking it more often than that!
Has anyone noticed them going out of calibration and if so over what timescale?
Cheers
Graeme

Re: HDS6000 calibration
Hi Graeme
You are right phase based systems are less stable that Scanstation,
The 180 of 180 is a quide to when a calibration should be carried out if you use a scanner say once a week in good conditions it would be unlikely that it would need it, but using it continusly every day I would recomend a factory calibration.
I would recomend setting up your own checking procedures. Place a number of targets around a large space (your office is ideal) get the 3D cordinates by independent means either a Total station or scanner of know quility. every so often scan the room and targets and check that the registration is not drifting out. You would normally see a differance between data either side of the scanner.

Re: HDS6000 calibration
Hi Steve
Thats exactly what we've done, its just it would have been good to know this earlier as we are at day 124 and I would have prefered to set a benchmark early on then monitor it from there.
Other than that the 6000 seems a great bit of kit.
Cheers

Re: HDS6000 calibration
Hi Steve
The scanner we purchased from you guys is now more than 220 days. The warning indicator is rather annoying.
I was unable to send it in at the appropriate time.
Please advise when we would be able to call Leica to sort out this problem for us.
To be more direct, when do you go back to work and also how long does a factory calibration take?

Re: HDS6000 calibration
Hi Kurt
If you have been using the scanner every day 7 days a week then the 220 days would mean you should get it calibrated. As the counter continues to go up even if its in a cupboard, so you need to take a veiw to how much it has been used. And to check your data.
It normally takes about 10 working days to turn around a calibration in germany
The UK HDS team are officialy off till the 5th Jan but are still answering our phones where needed.
The Euro support team have been operational throughout xmas bar the bank hols.

Re: HDS6000 calibration
Hi All,
I've just made the calibration test and apparently it's ok, but I have 235 days shown on the cupboard and the warning alarme is annoying.
I would like to reset this values. It's possible to do that?
BJ

RMB - how much is it in EUR?
What expences you met except calibration and transport?
