Shaun,
It could be the targets you are using for calibration. The ones supplied that had adhesive backing would not work. Had to print paper ones.

Re: Leica External Camera Kit
For the C-10 it needs the HDS vinyl targets. I tried the printed ones and got an error message, later got clarification from Leica they need the blue/white targets.
Leica is hopefully working on a solution as I have been in multiple conversations with them about it. Waiting to hear back again, then if needed I will switch the location site of where I have been attempting the calibration.

Re: Leica External Camera Kit
When you bought the external camera solution it should have come with a calibration kit.

Re: Leica External Camera Kit
Hi I have been trying to setup a canon 70D external camera with a P20 I followed the pdf instructions and external camera wizard
but have some serious alignment issues going on not sure if it is to do with the new firmware on the scanner the image doesn't seem to cover the whole scan (firmware 2.60.847)
I have attached some images to show what is not working and any help would be much appreciated
Thanks
Jenny

Re: Leica External Camera Kit
Jennifer,
What targets are you using to align the camera. If you are trying to use the targets that is sent with the kit, they may not work with the P20. We had to print our targets and not use the vinyl ones. The one issue with the external is the parallax view due to the camera mounted on top. I would suggest using the nodal ninja. It gets rid of the parallax issues.

Re: Leica External Camera Kit
I think the best one is istar fusion,it only wants 30 seconds to capture. But you must finish the scan and after mount the istar with special adaptor. I have compare results from dslr and istar and does not worth dslr I think, istar is super fast.

Re: Leica External Camera Kit
iStar is quick but they do fail a lot, then have to re-boot it etc, still quicker than P40 camera!! It would be nice if there was a newer/higher resolution version.
I have not used this, but from samples / work flow i believe this is the best quality option out there as you can use a proper full frame camera and a prime lens... and its automated! https://www.lizardq.com/en/features/
