Lower Cost 3D Scanners

Post by Formula1982 »

We have a need for a low cost laser scanner for 360 scans. Accuracy and range aren't huge concerns and software cost isn't too important as we probably already have it. The obvious thing to look at is the BLK360 which I believe is approx. £18K?
I've not really looked at the lower end of the market before so I'm not sure what's out there. Only new scanners are possible, a 2nd hand scanner wouldn't work. Anyone have any suggestions for alternatives to consider for the budget conscious?

Not sure what their current price is, but I'd have a look at the Topcon GLS range for a decent cost effective scanner. Very different animal to the BLK360 and a decent instrument for engineering environments from the feedback I've had from SCC users.

Get yourself a second hand C10 or P20. As cheap (or cheaper) than a new BLK360 - but soooo much better.

Be aware C10 servicing is coming to an end soon.

Nooo if you see pointcloud from parascom is awful with a lot of noise!
It’s the worst pointcloud that I have seen so far, and the company also does not exist anymore.
