Not sure about that. Sample datasets from the website look comparable.
Horizon is for sure more noisy than a TLS, but quality of the data is very good.

I am more convinced now that its a hardware problem and I am afraid we experience this more in the future.

It sounds like a hardware issue indeed. Unfortunately support while willing to help generally is not able to fix the dataset. Best solution I found is to cut the offending cloud portion filtering by timestamp.

My dataset are getting worse in time, but in the meanwhile I'm slowing down a lot. I wonder if it's the low speed the cause....

We are having the same issue. 7 month old system. Support would say that there is something we are doing wrong, but we are not.
They sent us a loaner demo unit to try out and we still had problems with it. Our scanner is on its way back to the UK to be looked at. I am also not happy considering the amount of time we have lost in multpiple project as a result of inconsistent processing.

Iam glad that we are not alone.

Still experiencing this from this 50k$ scanner, and geoslam is not taking the responsibility. this is realy frustrating.

Hello

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I can see that you have an active GeoSLAM Support case open for this issue and our Support Engineers have found the solution to your issue - there are some parameter settings in the software that need adjusting. We are happy to set up a remote session with you to remedy the problem.

Our team look forward to hearing from you.

Happy to know that we are not alone. Lately after 6-7 months of ownership, this is typical. Any fix that support applies does not yield an acceptable result for us to produce accurately measured spaces (yes, believe it or not, having accurate scans to back up your drawing deliverables is a real need)

We have sent our scanner back to the UK to be serviced, but have a loaner here that also produces the same results. I am convinced that this is not hardware related but instead their SLAM software needs to be revised.

All the times that we get these errors in the data are on corridors or offices. We bought the Horizon because we were told that it could work well both indoors and outdoors - however! we have gotten results like this twice on exterior scans walking around a building to capture the site.

I really like our Horizon, but I agree that is not acceptable for a piece of equipment at this price point. We started processing data on-site to make sure we have good captures, and apparently, other customers are having to scan the same scape two or three times for redundancy (crazy!)

Why don't you disclose the fix? I have tried all kind of settings in HUB (because connect is just a beta unfinished software) and I am not able to fix out data and it is frustrating to us and our customers.

Hello

GeoSLAM launched Connect 2.0 in Autumn 2021, which includes the processing and reprocessing capabilities of Hub as well as other features such as georeferencing and scan alignment. This new software platform also runs the latest version of our SLAM (GeoSLAM Beam) which is the world's leading SLAM algorithm. We are also set to release the next instalment of Connect (version 2.1) next month which includes a colourisation workflow, with the new ZEB Vision camera, and new data filters and classifiers. These features are all automated workflows making it quicker and easier to process your data.

All of this is available for free to customers with a valid GeoSLAM Care contract so I would recommend ensuring this is up-to-date so you can access all of the features I have mentioned above.

If you are still using GeoSLAM Hub, we have a web page on GeoSLAM Academy that lists some of the quick dataset fixes that you could try before contacting the GeoSLAM Support Team. The web address is: https://geoslam.com/academy/process-and ... ick-fixes/

I hope the Connect 2.1 allows to align more than one scan at a time and not one at a time like connect 2.0 does.
We are most interested in the new camera, but we need to scanner to be realiable..

Hello, I am happy to annouce that we are able to process most of the damaged scans correctly after the support engineer f geoslam changed a parameter in a geoslam hub file.
Thank you
