Hi Noor
This is a fine idea but I'm not sure that this type of web server could cope with that level of data.
I would sugest using dedicated FTP sites or services like Ibackup.com or Xdrive.

Re: One Stop Canter For Point Cloud import/export
The webserver we are on has a disk size of 750,000 MB which we have only used 232.55 MB so far. Also we have used 1529.74 MB of 750,0000 MB in Bandwidth. With both of the sites that Steven mentioned above a user would get 5gb of free space. Therefore we have enough potential to create this suggestion for a few members but I will need more details on how and what it will be used for and the benefits it will bring to other members and the forum as a whole. Also we would need to know just how many members would use this service then we could work out the data flow. Once a member submits these details I will discuss this with the other forum moderators and start to implement this into the site.

While awaiting members sugestions I have recently been using http://www.sendthisfile.com/ seems to be very quick and even in its free mode useful.

Re: One Stop Canter For Point Cloud import/export
Would it be a service like http://www.sendthisfile.com is but only for forum members to transfer large point cloud data between them selves? What benefit would this bring to other members and the site?

Hi,
I suppose members could share data in a variety of ways, perhaps:
1. Sample data sets
2. Error logfiles
3. CAD Tools, AutoLisp, VBA applications, Diesel Macros etc
4. Imagery
5. Scanning Standards/Specifications
6. Tender Documents
Further comments would be welcome from members :O)
