Hi,
I've used cloudcompare a few times and found it very useful. We work with 3D cad models in dng, dxf, dwg etc.
I was wondering if anyone has a way of importing these models into cloud compare for the purpose of comparing the model against a point cloud. I have tried simple opening up the files but they don't load properly and don't seem to be on grid.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Richard

Re: Compare CAD model to point cloud
Hi,
The support for the DXF format is clearly in its early stage. Moreover the DXF format is a bit 'abstruse' ...
Don't hesitate to send me a file that doesn't work (along with a snapshot of what it should look like) and I'll try to update the importer. You can send me emails at 'cloudcompare [at] danielgm.net' (replace [at] by @).

Thanks for getting back to me, this is by no means a complaint. I understand CC is a work in progress.
I'll have a bit more of a play and i might get back to you.
Thanks again
