Arena for Mobile Mapping
Has anyone used Arena for mobile mapping yet? I have approx 200miles of mapping to deliver to the client. I am delivering in point cloud using recap already. However, I like the viewer potential that Arena gives. Also, I have imaging from the ladybug software at 4m intervals so not sure that Arena would survive the import, might fall over and die.

Re: Arena for Mobile Mapping
Not idea about Ladybug, but up to now I have yet to find a limit with Arena.
I used it for clouds up to a couple of billions of points and it worked perfectly and smoothly as with a tiny dataset.
You can get a trial and push it as hard as you can with your data..

Re: Arena for Mobile Mapping
Hi Jim,
The point cloud side is no problem. You can put as much as you want in Arena4D and it will render just as fast as a small cloud, just as Max said.
As for the panoramic imagery. We've built several different plugins for different customers to render their panoramic data along with the point cloud. Quantity is again not an issue as only what is visible at any one time is displayed.
Drop us an email and I'm sure we can put something together for you on the panorama side.
Many Thanks
Mark

Re: Arena for Mobile Mapping
Thanks both.
Mark,
Tried calling Mark E last week as I was out driving all week. I will give you a call tomorrow.
I am looking for a good visualisation tool which can show the 3D environment as well as house the 360 imaging at 4m centres for the entire route.
Hopefully there is an exportable file type that you can utilise that would not be a huge task to import the images.
I will be issuing a recap model to my staff member who is resident on that project so he can utilise in AutoCAD too.
Cheers
