Hi,
I'm currently testing the demo version of Point Server, added a few Arena 4D projects that contain VPC point clouds, but the list appears empty:
(test url removed)
When verifying the added projects in the Point Server, all files appear green and OK. I've had this happen before, for no apparent reason
Point Server: list is empty

Re: Point Server: list is empty
Hi Jan,
The list would only be empty if for some reason the computer hosting the server can not see the point cloud VPC files for whatever reason.
Does the server GUI still show the actual projects ok in the project list?
It may be easiest to email me direct so I can respond quicker for you.
Many Thanks
Mark Christy

Re: Point Server: list is empty
Hi Jan,
Ok I see the problem now, I hope I can explain clearly enough. Perhaps we need to document it better in the User Guide....!
1) Projects do not have to have their data "locally" and instead can reference them in different drives/directories on the computer.
2) Point Server supports Projects and sharing of their data as a project to Data Studio
3) Additionally Point Server can stream any point clouds it finds within it's database folder separately
So, the reason you can not see the point clouds outside of the Data Studio project is because they are not in a location Point Server is looking for streamable data.
If I want to stream additional point clouds outside of those linked to a project I create a "PointClouds" folder under my Point Server Database folder. I then copy the files into there and Point Server will find them.
Many Thanks
Mark
