It looks like you can split your E57 with cloud compare from command line:
Create a bat file . I named it: Cloudcompare split e57.bat
Inside it write the following line:
Code: Select all
for %%f in (%*) DO "C:\yourpathtocloudcompare\cloudcompare.exe" -SILENT -O %%f -C_EXPORT_FMT E57 -SAVE_CLOUDS
Change the path to your cloud compare.
-SILENT eliminates prompt boxes
-O %ff opens the files you dran and drop to the bat file
-C_EXPORT_FMT E57 selects the output format
-SAVE_CLOUDS forces to save the clouds
Now simply drag and drop your clouds to the .bat file
the file names are the processing timestamp and not the original scan name. Could it work?

Can you explain this process in more detail @max72? My .bat file looks like this:
@ECHO OFF. ECHO. ECHO
dir C:\Users\Application Engineer\Desktop\test.e57
CODE: SELECT ALL
for test.e57 in (C*) DO "C:\Program Files\cloudcompare.exe" -SILENT -O test.e57 -C_EXPORT_FMT E57 -SAVE_CLOUDS
I am no coder, and am struggling to get this to work. My test.e57 contains 3 scan that I want to save as 3 individual E57's.
