All,
The company I work for just recently purchased a Istar fusion camera to use for our Leica C10 and P40 laser scanners. I have been doing some test and the colorization of the point cloud seems pretty poor as compared to the onboard cameras on the scanners. The Istar makes the point cloud look blurry when images are applied. I had the camera set to take photos using the HDR Pro setting. Is there a way to fix this or has anyone encountered this problem?

Hi Waylon,
Personally no, I haven't.
If you process the individual panos through immersive studio....how do they turn out...still "blurry"....?
There is a new firmware update for iSTAR units and a new version of immersive studio too....via NCTech website.

Re: IStar Fusion Point Cloud Color
Colin,
I did process the panos through immersive studio and I receive good results when doing that. My issue was when I colorized my point cloud. I think it uses the raw image versus using the edited one out of immersive studio. I didn't know if there was a way to first edit the images and then colorize the cloud.
Thanks,
Waylon

Re: IStar Fusion Point Cloud Color
OK..which version of cyclone are you using?
Have you tried the stand alone version of ColourCloud?
Might be worth a go if not...again it's on their site. Export your point cloud out as an e57 and process it with the iSTAR pano in ColourCloud..note the log that's generated...then re-import back into cyclone.
