Does anyone have experience with the Realworks plugin to Sketchup?
We run most of our post processing through Cyclone. Trying to figure out what the process would be to
offer a client a Realworks database for Sketchup. Does Sketchup even have the capability to view point clouds anymore?
Thanks for any input on this.
Gus

Re: Realworks Plugin for Sketchup
Realworks (10) has a native plug-in for SU Pro (the version you will need: $700 US). I'm still in the early test phase of RW, and would also like to have the ability to use polylines (derived from point clouds) for dimensioning in a CAD/BIM manner (as opposed to individual tag measurements). Ideally, all this should/could be done in RW, but Trimble has chosen SU Pro for this task.

Thanks for the reply Scott. SU used to take .POD files back in the Google days but was a discontinued once Trimble bought them. It would be nice if you could index a neutral file format point cloud for use in SU.

Re: Realworks Plugin for Sketchup
You are able to create objects in RW's ScanExplorer, exported directly into SU.
Anyway, there were beta tests with pointclouds in SU by the Undet:
