Hi All,

This is a short video showing the new fully automatic classification feature in Trimble RealWorks 10, released in Autumn 2015.

Cheers,
Andrés

Is anyone currently using RW 10 with SketchUp Pro? If so, would you mind reporting on the snap-to ability of SU Pro within RW?
What's working well? What isn't a good work flow? - especially for import/export, dimensioning & annotation.
What can be improved?
What surprised you?
Thanks!

I've had an easy time importing E57 (Scene) files into RW, but only as unified point clouds (generally want). Some of the RW tools are grayed out (Segmentation), however, which are the ones I want to test.

I've tried to import Scene 5.5 projects, but these files are not importing at all. I'd appreciate an import work flow tip so that I can test what works, and what won't in RW 10. I intend to use Scene for primarily for registration and RW for items that I'm unable to further process in Scene.

I could be wrong but I think if you want to use scene projects, you will need to either use scene 5.4 or wait for a realworks update.

I use scans from Scene in RealWorks as opening as 'scancopies' exported from Scene.

@ Scott:
The segmentation tool is accessible for any kind of imported scan data. But it is only enabled when in Production configuration, not in Registration - see drop down list on the top left of the application. So, to use segmentation, make sure that you are in Production configuration, and that you have at least one point cloud selected.
Trimble RealWorks currently imports FLS files, not Scene projects. But you can import registered FLS files.

@ Patrick(Least): Regarding updates, you should be able to update the Faro LS library and have it work with an already installed version of Trimble RealWorks.

Thanks to everyone who responded! I'll revisit the test project soon. Overall, I'm impressed with the package, thanks again! ~S

Hi All again,

To add more elements to this discussion, let me share a short video showing how to use the fully automatic Ground Extraction in TRW 10.

Best regards,
Andrés
