I'm trying to create textured low-poly meshes of scan data from Scene using Meshlab.
I have exported from Scene as .xyz, and the file appears to include colour data:
0.944600 -1.794700 6.050800 91.000000 76.000000 121.000000
0.910900 -1.789300 5.992900 105.000000 82.000000 116.000000
1.099600 -1.803400 6.042500 95.000000 80.000000 130.000000
1.078200 -1.820600 6.055800 84.000000 74.000000 105.000000
When importing the .xyz file into Meshlab all the points are grey. I have been following some guides to texturing a mesh from the original points, but without success, and I'm wondering whether Meshlab is reading the colour data – it certainly isn't showing it!
Help!

Re: meshlab xyzrgb import
I'm no expert with Meshlab but Noticed in that example that the RGB Values have the same number of decimal places as the coordinates. I don't think the RGB values need the decimals and should be separated by a coma? just a thought.
I just found this post which might offer more help than my guessing...

If you don't see that there is nothing, then you are kidding yourself.

Indeed, maybe they're not even RGB values. Could they be normals? I wouldn't have thought they'd have zeroes after the decimals, but what do I know? Maybe I'll check I'm exporting correctly from Scene first.

Re: meshlab xyzrgb import
In my experience the best solution is to use cloud compare as a bridge.
In cloud compare you can import E57, and now faro files too (I have to test it..).
If you have a text file cloud compare allows you to decide what is every column.
In cloud compare you can fuse, subsample, and do a lot of nice things.
Then you can export to meshlab using a format more compatible with Meshlab, like PLY.

Re: meshlab xyzrgb import
Rename the extension .xyz to .txt. Then choose the x y z r g b option when importing the file.

Hi all,
This is exactly what I need, but I can't figure out how to get the Pre-Open Options to come up in Meshlab. Can someone help sort me out?
Thanks.
