Eugene and I are just testing the Beta of the new Clouds2Max plugin for 3ds Max.
Included in the new release:
Support for Max 2015
Improved filtering for pointclouds
New blur function to improve the appearance the point clouds (smooths color differences in the scan points).
New Meshing function (works best with an enclosed object for the most part).
Draping feature where geometry can be draped over the top of the point cloud to effectively create a low poly alternative.
Nitrous Support
Ability to edit Recap pointclouds
New clone feature to clone parts of the point cloud
New "Marker" function for creating the equivalent of survey points from a pointcloud.
Texture creation based on the colored pointcloud
New alignment and attachment tools
Stability fixes
Rendering improvements
Vray support (planned)
Multi-threaded filtering
Redundant point removal
Corrected Gamma
New Shadow casting technique
I'm sure there are some things I forgot, but it looks to be a great release.

Re: New Release of Clouds2Max
Looks like some really great features there, particularly the ability to render point clouds properly.
If you don't see that there is nothing, then you are kidding yourself.

Re: New Release of Clouds2Max
We're really looking forward to this latest release. All of those new features will definitely get used over here.
Can't wait to take it for a test drive! How long are you going to keep us in suspense?

Re: New Release of Clouds2Max
Paul,
Eugene and I are both swamped.
We do have some beta licenses if you are interested.
Our programmer has added a lot of features, but right not they are not intuitive and seeing as how we haven't had the time to make tutorial videos, we have held off.
Let me know if you are interested in testing the latest version, particularly if you want to use it in Max 2015 (I must confess, I have not even installed 2015 yet)... *sigh*
