Volume Calculations
Hi all,
Need some help measuring a volume for an excavated site. I need to extract 2 volumes between 2 planes and 2 meshes. Would appreciate some help with going about the best procedure. I have already created this in 3dr (attached link)

Now I have to go to a barbecue party. I'll calculate for you tomorrow if it's not too late.

Re: Volume Calculations
That would be much appreciated . Enjoy you're BBQ
Also if you would be so kind to record the screen while trying it out and send it over that would be of great help for me to learn the procedure (Or at least a typical procedure)

Re: Volume Calculations
1. Separate with object/Separate on both side of the plane, Keep points on side 1 and side 2. Make 3 part.
2. Clean data
3. Create meshes: 0, 0+1 part, 0+1+2 part.
4. Calculate volume with liquid
5. You get the results with a simple subtraction.

Re: Volume Calculations
Hi Yannick,
So I managed quite easily and i also managed to fix a part of the mesh too since the one i have sent you was not how i wanted it to be for a proper result. While preporming the measurment though i got this warning which i don't really know what that might imply.

Re: Volume Calculations
In the first photo, I saw that the planes were neither vertical nor parallel. This makes it much easier.

Re: Volume Calculations
Hi Clive,
You need to get rid of the holes to have good result. Ideally, I would also remove the unchanged parts (not the excavation area) to get the most accurate result.
