VirtuCube 3D-Scanner

Post by virtumake »

Hi, I just released the prototype of the VirtuCube 3D-Scanner.

It is a David-Scanner with an Acer K11, a Logitech C615 and an Arduino Turntable.

The whole setup is fixed relative to each other, so you just have to calibrate the scanner once. The whole thing fits into a box for maximum convenience :)

I just tested the new Beta of David Laserscanner 3.7 64bit with the VirtuCube and got this scan without any post-processing in an additional software :D

I am planning to sell kits for the VirtuCube 3D Scanner.

Does anybody know, if there are patents involved in such a scanner setup?

Hi Bernhard
I love your work.
Can i suggest that because you have already put your work into the public sphere, that trying to patent it now would not be successful. It would be a cost to you that would be easy to get around for anyone else.
