This portable high end 3D scanning and data capture system has served me very well! The accurate and high quality results have been reliable and repeatable over a significant variety of projects. This combination of high end sensor technology and digital photogrammetry has enabled the successful scanning of small items (microprocessor layouts) up to very large items such as a New York City garbage truck and all of it's "crusher" components. Steinbichler was integrated into the Zeiss product line in late 2105, two companies well known for high end optics and reliability.
The non-contact measurement principle of the COMET LƎD sensor offers the possibility to measure delicate and fragile objects (e.g. of plastic or foam material) that are very difficult to measure using conventional measuring machines/tactile measuring heads. The BLUE LED technology of the COMET LƎD sensor allows capturing of the measurement points in only about 2 seconds. Parts with many features can be captured many times faster using this process than using conventional tactile systems such as Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
