That's neat - I can see a lot of potential uses for that. Great that it's vendor neutral as well.

Shahazad, just call GeoSlam and ask they are very easy to talk to and highly responsive. Met Neil and Richard(from GeoSlam) at the IAFSM conference and they were great. They answered every question I had even when I thought I was asking too many :P
More on the Revo here:http://www.laserscanningforum.com/forum ... =21&t=9594
Having held both the Zeb1 and Revo I can tell you that the sensation is like having a huge load lifted off your back. Even the Faro scanner seems huge by comparison. I have been playing around with the data this week and it is better than I thought it would be. A bit difficult to look at since it is only xyz without intensity, but Cloud Compare's EDL filter helps.

As far as this Faro Labs mapping unit goes, it appears to be the same Applanix guts as what Trimble has used in it Timms system. It is strange, I have talked to people at both Faro and Applanix about this setup after seeing the first bicycle drawn system that a German student put together and I just can't seem to get anywhere after years of trying. I have been told numerous times that this is a simple plug and play system, but I cannot obtain a manual of even a brochure for how it all goes together and operates. Without that bit of information the uncertainty has made it an impossible sell to my company. Until this point the software was an even bigger mystery. Since Scene cannot combine this data it had to be done in the Applanix software, but in the video a "Helical App" was mentioned which is intriguing. Wish I could beta test that App, because I can think of few other uses for helical mode that would not require the Applanix system.

If this Applanix+Faro system is really as easy as plug and play we would have purchased it years ago even with all its shortcomings, but it is such a hard pill to swallow without the documentation. I am curious to know if anyone else has been able to get this system running on their own by combining all the parts? I would pay to have the basic details on how to put this together sketched out on a napkin
