LAS format from Trimble MX8 system

Post by ikonos »

Hello to all,
Does anyone know how to transform a LAS file from the Trimble MX8 system into a format like PTS, XYZ, TXT or even LAS 1.0, 1.1 or 1.2?
Does anyone already knows or heard about the LAS 2.0 format?
Regards.

Try las2txt by Martin Isenburg

As far as I know LAS 1.4 is currently drafted.

Ikonos,

We have successfully decoded the MX8 LAS 2.0 format (native files). LAS 2.0 format spec is available on the web using google search.

Is there a reason that you don't want to use Trident to export to CSV, LAS 1.1, 1.2, or 1.4?

I can help you out if you still want to decode the LAS 2.0 file. This file format will change in the future with a new version of capture software.
