X330 Noise

Post by HQ_QC »

Hello,

This is our first scan with Faro X330. There is a lot of noise on sharp edge (see attachement) compare to the Focus 3D. How can we avoid this on the field ? Then, how can it be easely clean in Scene 5.3 ?

Thanks.

Danis.

While I'm not the resident expert, and there could be a number of factors... the first thing that comes to mind particularly with the x330 is the distance settings. If you have the long range settings enabled (intended for scanning the touted 330 meters) you don't really want to be scanning close range. ie; if you're scanning at close range only, turn that setting off, otherwise (to my understanding) the scanner is working at a stronger power :? to pick up the further data, and things at closer range get noisy and messy. That's what I've seen in testing anyway. You may know that already and have done that, but it's the one thing that comes to mind when I saw your issue. If it's not that, I'm sure there are more qualified people here who will jump in soon. :D
