Re: Another 360 degree camera
Hope they work out how to fit a light bulb to it for use with the lightbulb mounted surveillance option.
Steve, it's the BB1. The little know about early derivative of the BB8. As you'll discover in a few years, it got shelved when they developed the rolling version.
It isn't actually a mono-pod attachment, it's the droid's zapping device, which also doubles as a light saber. Something else they overlooked when designing the "static" BB1 before release in November 2016.

Re: Another 360 degree camera
This thread is titled accurately. ANOTHER 360 camera.
There's so many on the market now, and so many producing average quality 360 images with clear stitch errors/blurring.
This one included. If I can see what looks like a smudge, parallax or a stitch error where the multiple lens images are auto stitched together, then it's not worth it for me.
If all you want is to document a party with a few 'interesting' shots, then these are fine. But if you want something that looks good, something you might want to incorporate into a professional workflow, you just need to spend more on better kit than this.

Re: Another 360 degree camera
I am interested in 360 camera tech right now and these affordable camera's are going to change the game IMO. I like how they are making them not much bigger than the Gopro. Strapping these onto surfboards and dirt bikes is really going to blow up the YouTube data transfer rates.
However;
I have a question about Google Street view quality car mounted systems. I'm looking for options to capture Google street view images that Google will accept with the option to possible extract assets or objects from the images later.
LIDAR would be a pipe dream right now, but can anyone offer a camera system that meets both needs? Google Street view and Asset extraction?
Things I'm trying to find are a good GPS @ highway speed, a Camera with best possible capture ability that Google will accept, and software to extract and save into SQL database a number of different assets. Manual extraction if that is all I can get but I'd love for automated process to speed up finding objects.
I have talked to some of the best systems out there and for the right price I have seen what the best can do. I guess I'm looking for something more affordable if possible or at least make sure I'm not missing anyone.
I personally want to collect my neighborhood and capture Google street view. I want to become a Certified Street View pro and if I can swing it, I'll add the option to capture 360 video and highway collection to my list!
