Post by Jason Warren »

Hi,
Has any one played around with a beta Windows 10?
I understand it will be free, and launched on July 29, 2015.

I'm still using 7... Anyone try 8? What happened to 9? Lol...

10 looks pretty cool, especially the augmented reality glasses they are doing to go with it.
If you don't see that there is nothing, then you are kidding yourself.

What happened to 9?
8.1 ~~ 8+1 => 9 :lol:

(way different if it had been base 8 (remember octal?), in which case, 7 is followed by 10)

7 is wonderful, 8 is 7 with a giant flaming turd smeared on it, and they hired the same crew who designed 8 to count to the next number, which according to them is 10. Hopefully that's all the input the 8 crew has had on 10.

Normally I skip most versions, because they come along with big problems in compatibility to the software I have to use.

Windows 8 was somthing like this, the old SCENE versions are not fully compatible to that version. Wondows 8.1 is better and very useful on Tablets (Freestyle, Xtion, Kinect, ...) or in conjunction with touch displays...

Always I hear: "I do not need a touch display", but if I give my systems to them, I have to fight, to get my systems back ;)

Therefore I hope, Windows 10 will increase this part and makes it easier to me to develop software for different types of equipment (developer part ;)
