Thanks Dennis I was just looking at Intel's offerings yesterday to investigate their use for obstacle avoidance on autonomous vehicles...aka robots.

This page helps compare, but I need more information their outdoor full sunlight performance. Probably need to see if the wavelength and power outputs are stated in the specs.
Edit: yep the D455 is 850nm and 350mw

Re: INTEL REALSENSE DEPTH CAMERA D455
Got my D455 in today. Still figuring it out of course, but so far so good. The viewer has an incredible amount of settings, so it may take me a long time to get acquainted with it. These scaled down images don't really do it much justice, so I have included a link to view the originals. I was surprised the inside of my mouth wasn't just a void. My dark phone case and glass screen also shows up well. In the second image the back wall is a bookcase full of books, which did not impress me much due to the lack of detail. I may have some settings I need to tune. The minimum range is cut off at 0.5 meters.

I will be testing this thing out in a number of different scenarios and using different software in the next few weeks, so if anyone has any things they would like to see just let me know
