I think that's already generally the case, even without SSDs. It's pretty common for a well configured NAS with spinning disks to be able to saturate a 10 GbE connection.

I think it's even possible to build one that will saturate a 40GbE link. If you're chasing that level of performance though the cost off SSDs is probably going to be a drop in the bucket.

We have all the experimental pieces in place, with our small raid5 SSD server (7TB) with 2 ports 10GbE; 4 port 10GbE raid6 HDD SAS server (70TB) hooked up to a 28 port 10GbE switch; but no time to connect, manage the switch, and test everything out right now since the difference in time for our work flow is 8 seconds improvement. We have improved the workflow loading/viewing time from 146 seconds by network, network cable and workstation improvements. I have not aggregated the 2 ports or 4 ports yet, but plan to when I have more time.
